Top Golf Cart Questions
A Golf Cart LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) is a four-wheeled vehicle that legally hits speeds just above 20 mph but stays below 25 mph. Following South Carolina's code of law 56-2-100, these street-legal carts are equipped with safety features like seatbelts and turn signals and must be registered with the DMV, complete with a license plate.
LSV’s can be driven on most public roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less. We strictly rent out street legal golf cart lsvs so you can drive our vehicles on many more roads than your typical golf cart, and even during the nightime!
In order to operate an LSV, a person must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Please be sure to get a Seabrook Island Gate Pass, before arriving! If you decide to leave the island and go to Freshfields, Bohickett Marina, or somewhere else, they won't let you back in without one! Additionally, we require a copy of your driver’s license and auto insurance card before dropping off. Please send pictures of these to licensing@seabrookislandcarts.com Outside of that all you need is a smile and an appetite for a good time!
Our golf carts are all street legal electric vehicles, so if you're going to be getting a lot of use out of your golf cart, you should be charging regularly. In fact, we recommend to all of our clients to charge it every night!
All of our golf carts come equipped with a battery gauge that tells you how much charge you have available. For the best golf cart rental experience, we advise that - if you will not be using the golf cart for a couple of hours, plug it in. If it is below 20%, you should return home and charge immediately!
Our fleet primarily consists of lithium battery golf carts, which take about 4 hours to fully charge, as opposed to lead-acid (8-10 hours). Your golf cart rental also comes with a 25-50 ft heavy duty extension cord that plugs into your everyday 3 prong outlet for easy charging.

Our policy is designed to be fair and reasonable, while also allowing us to provide the best service to our customers.
Our policy is listed below:
- 100% Refund -Cancellation more than 30 days from rental date
- 50% Refund - Cancellation between 15 and 30 days from rental date
- 0% Refund - Cancellation with less than 15 days to rental date

Golf Cart Delivery/Pick Up Questions
Yes! We deliver to your door between 7-11 AM on the morning of your rental date. We put the keys in a lockbox, and the extension cord in the second row. We will contact you when your golf cart is on the way!
While we do prefer our clients to be there upon delivery, if you are willing to sign our online rental agreement, you don't need to be there!
After you rental has concluded, we will come pick it up that day between 7-11 AM. Due to busy season, we ask that you please charge your vehicle overnight in case your it is going straight to someone else. Please leave the key in the lockbox and the extension cord stored in the second row.
Seabrook Island Rule Questions
The large majority of rental properties allow golf cart lsv rentals. There are some sections of Seabrook Island that only allow gas, or only allow electric, so it's best to contact your rental company to see what they recommend.
Yes! Because our vehicles are street legal, you can venture to and fro Freshfields Village. Be careful on the roads and comply to standard SCDMV laws (car laws)!

Payment Questions
Yes we require upfront payment for our golf cart rental LSV. During May-August we require a full deposit upon reservation. From September- April we require at least half up front, and collect the rest 30 days outside of your golf cart rental.
